mourner
While their 2018 EP was not bad at all this marks a huge step up. Songwriting is really captivating and production perfectly supports the devastating bleakness. So nothing's in the way to take you down on an emotional tour de force.
Es verbrennt sich
doch erwärmt sich nicht
Zitternde Hände
zerreiben die Patina
lagern den Staub um
ordnen die Trümmer
sammeln die Scherben
kratzen an dem Firmament
Es verbrennt sich
dennoch erkaltet es
Es verbrennt sich
dennoch spürt es nichts
Es verendet, lebt ab
Es verwittert, stirbt ab
Es verfällt gen Himmel
stürzt sich hinauf
will im Äther verglühen
doch regnet herab
Durch Partikelgewitter, durch Wolkenbruch
Schlägt auf den Boden, wird Sediment
Versandet und sinkt
Verhärtet, gefriert
Im Zwang nach unten
zum Erdkern hinab
Es versengt sich
Es verbrennt sich
Es verglüht
doch gefriert
Reclused in lightless chambers of apathetic contemplation KLUIZENAER has been plunging in formless depths of the German underground since MMXV.
Suitable to the band's name, which means „Hermit“ in the dutch language, KLUIZENAER was conjured into existence as FFF’s solo endeavor, putting forth abstract sound collages of blackened ambient and noise. After roaming these forsaken planes in solitude for some years FFF. was joined by JJJ. on Drums and MMM. On guitar, thus evolving into a three-piece black metal band, active in the Berlin area.
This line up brought forth KLUIZENAER’s MMXVIII five track EP “DAS UNGEBROCHENE SCHWEIGEN“ (The Unbroken Silence). Here the listener Is taken on a journey through lightless hellscapes, with KLUIZENAER acting as Vergil, guiding through freezing planes and sulphurous pits, which are born from sinister ambiance and bleak eremitic Black Metal.
At the end of the same year, the band steps back into the shadows to undergo metamorphosis after MMM. decides to part from the project. Kluizenaer once again shed its skin and manifested anew in MMXIX, now featuring LLL. On guitar. Going through the alchemical process of writing, discarding, re-writing, distilling, and refining substance, The group started purifying the material that would eventually become their first full length: “EIN ABBILD DER LEERE”. (A depiction of emptiness).
Luring in with abstract sound arrangements, soon building up to fulminant drones of nearly orchestral magnitude, Then immersing in towering walls of abysmal guitars, soaring high in melancholic beauty, then crushing downward with cyclopean force, burying every last reminiscence light beneath its weight. Thundering blast beats rain down through otherworldly nebulae, then clash into pitch-black waters where they cast rushing, rhythmic waves of mid-tempo, or slowly freeze into monstrous icebergs along passages of pulsating doom.
Echoing back from the walls of collapsing cathedrals and abandoned throne rooms comes a magnitude of desperate screeches, furious shouting, vicious screams, at times even solemn singing and cavernous growls. Though being spawn forth with aggression and malice, the voices mutually recite thoughtfully worded poetry, contemplating transience, insignificance, desolation, and spite. “EIN ABBILD DER LEERE”, a depiction of emptiness sculpted from sound, image, and emotion. A graven idol, cast into form in collaboration between Wolves of Hades and BreathSunBoneBlood Records.
